North hawker wash days in September 2026: Bukit Canberra, Marsiling and Chong Pang

Five North hawker centres shut for spring cleaning this September. Kampung Admiralty already closed 2 to 3 September. Bukit Canberra Hawker Centre and Marsiling Mall Hawker Centre close 7 to 8 September, which is Monday and Tuesday this week. Marsiling Lane Food Centre follows on 14 to 15 September. Chong Pang Market & Food Centre, the one Yishun regulars treat as a weekly ritual, is down 14 to 17 September, a four-day wash.

Seth Lui's 1 September 2026 list, compiled from NEA and town council wash calendars, names 85 centres island-wide. School holidays stretch some closures. The North dates that matter for Yishun, Woodlands, Sembawang, Canberra and Admiralty sit in two clusters: this coming Monday-Tuesday, then the week of 14 September. Do not ride to Chong Pang on a Monday in mid-month expecting Chuan Kee duck rice. You will find shutters.

This week: Bukit Canberra and Marsiling Mall, 7 to 8 Sep

Bukit Canberra Hawker Centre at 21 Canberra Link is the Sembawang-Canberra default for many households. Official stall pages list LiXin Teochew Fishball Noodles at #01-31, Pangkor Island Nasi Lemak, Maxwell Chicken Rice, Yew Kee Duck Rice and Ah Heng Char Kway Teow. Canopy Hawkers Group runs this centre, the same operator NEA appointed to take over Yishun Park Hawker Centre from 20 July 2026. When Bukit Canberra is dark on 7 and 8 September, Yishun Park at 51 Yishun Avenue 11 is the nearest SEHC still open, unless its own wash day has moved. Seth Lui's September list does not name Yishun Park for this month, unlike the full-year table published in May that had 14 to 15 September against it. Trust the September 1 list for this run, and check the centre's own notice board before you go.

Marsiling Mall Hawker Centre at 4 Woodlands Street 12 also closes 7 to 8 September. Woodlands eaters can swing to Causeway Point's food floors or wait for Marsiling Lane at blocks 20/21, which stays open until 14 to 15 September. Kampung Admiralty Hawker Centre at 676 Woodlands Drive 71 already had its 2 to 3 September wash. FairPrice Group Hawker Centre was reappointed to run Kampung Admiralty from 1 July 2026, so that centre should be back to normal this week.

14 to 17 Sep: eat Chong Pang before the four-day close

Chong Pang at blocks 104/105 Yishun Ring Road, Singapore 760105, is the one to plan around. Honeycombers' January 2026 stall walk still matches how locals eat there. Chuan Kee Boneless Braised Duck at #01-161 has held a Michelin Bib Gourmand since 2018. Duck rice starts from $4. Closed Saturdays, 9.30am to 7.30pm the rest of the week. Ma Bo Lor Mee at #01-157 does lor mee and laksa from $4 with a battered fried fish on top, 7am to 9.45pm daily. Ban Heng Nasi Lemak at #01-133 runs set meals from $3, Tuesday to Sunday 5am to 2pm, pandan coconut rice and a battered wing. Haji Ali Cooked Food at #01-171 is one of the few Muslim-friendly stalls, lontong and mee rebus from $3, Tuesday to Sunday 6am to 9pm.

Old Chong Pang Wu Xiang Xia Bing at #01-166 is the ngoh hiang stop, ingredients from $1.20, Tuesday to Sunday with a mid-afternoon break. Xu Zhong Xing at #01-176 opens at 3.30am for congee and handmade noodles, then satay from 3.30pm, Tuesday to Sunday. Nee Soon Fish Head Mee Hoon at #01-154 does ban mian from $4.50. Kedai Atok Goreng Pisang at #01-174 sells pisang goreng at $2 for four. The centre is crowded even on weekdays. Go off-peak if you want a table.

Chong Pang is not closing for good in September. This is a wash. The longer story is Chill @ Chong Pang, the integrated hawker and market due around 2027, after which the current blocks make way for a community plaza. Until then, the 14 to 17 September shutdown is four days without Bib duck rice on Yishun Ring Road. Alternatives in walking or one-bus range: Yishun Park Hawker Centre, Northpoint City including Bagus Food Hall on South Wing Level 2, Wisteria Mall, and the kopitiams around Khatib.

Marsiling Lane Food Centre at 20/21 Marsiling Lane closes 14 to 15 September, overlapping the start of Chong Pang's wash. If both Woodlands neighbourhood centres and Chong Pang are down that Monday and Tuesday, Causeway Point and Northpoint City become the indoor fallback. Bring cash and PayNow anyway. Some stalls still prefer both.
