A Chinese restaurant specialising in live fish slices served in tangy, aromatic suan cai broth.
YU YU SUAN CAI Fish is a Chinese restaurant at Woods Square Mall that specialises in suan cai yu—live fish slices poached in a tangy, aromatic broth with pickled mustard greens. The dish is a beloved Sichuan-inspired favourite, and this outlet has earned recognition for its fresh ingredients and well-balanced, flavourful soup. The delicate fish slices absorb the sour, spicy, and umami-rich broth for a deeply satisfying bowl. The Woods Square location makes this popular Chinese dining concept easily accessible for Woodlands residents. The restaurant offers a casual yet polished setting suitable for small groups and family meals. Walk-ins are welcome, and the central mall location ensures convenience for shoppers and diners alike. Visit YU YU SUAN CAI Fish for an authentic taste of suan cai yu that does not require a trip to Chinatown. It is a standout choice for Chinese food lovers in the northern heartlands.

This was a delightful find and dinner. Originally we planned to have dinner at Xiang Xiang, however it was packed and there was 23 groups before us. We found Yu Yu with good review, but upon arrival the restaurant was rather small for 12 of us. However, the lady manning the counter was very helpful to arrange a 6 table row for us. She also help to patiently introduce the dishes to us. We ordered those she recommended and more. While waiting,we helped ourselves to the free side dishes which was surprisingly good. The food took a while to arrive cos we ordered quite a lot together with existing orders. The food came and we were very please with the original and mala fish soup, try it yourself. Recommended to have the combo to try the side dishes, cucumber, black fungus and chicken were nice. Overall the dinner was good with a pleasant surprise, however the restaurant is quite small, so call ahead to check out before coming.

Food was great! You get your money's worth with their decent portions. Definitely recommend the 口水鸡 Spicy Chicken, spicy and sour which whets your appetite.
Their recommended best seller soup is not as spicy but amazing.
Fried glutinous rice cake has a sweet sauce in side, very delicious.
highly recommend this place!

The suan cai fish soup was tasty however the garoupa was in small pieces as in the pic. Bit disappointing. Unlike those shown in other reviewers. Tofu and century egg is nice and simple.

The suan cai fish soup tasted pretty good, however the portion was small and service took quite some time. Free sides were a bonus, however for the value of the meal, wasnt really deserving. Place is quite cramped, not suitable for large groups.
