Sembawang Hot Spring Park stays shut until 30 October 2026

NParks listed Sembawang Hot Spring Park as closed for urgent maintenance until 30 October 2026. That is the line on the park page today, not the 30 September to 9 October window older round-ups still print. The cascading foot bath, the 70°C egg station, and the paths are off. If you turned up on Gambas Avenue this week with a pail, you hit a locked park.

Chinese coverage calls it 三巴旺温泉. It is Singapore's only public hot spring, 1.1 hectares, 7am to 7pm when it runs. After it reopens, the foot bath still shuts every Monday and Thursday from 11am to 2pm for cleaning. There is no on-site carpark. Cyclists leave bikes behind the toilet block and walk the rest. None of that helps until 31 October, and only if NParks does not extend the works again.

The first closure was sold as a short burst. It was not. Treat 30 October as the date on the official page, then check that page the morning you go. Some October blogs still describe an open park. They are wrong.

Woodlands Waterfront Park jetty looking toward the Johor Strait

The usual North loop is soak, lunch, then a jetty. Cut the soak for two weeks and the rest still works if you pick the right water. Woodlands Waterfront Park is open 24 hours. The jetty runs about 400 m over the Johor Strait. Woodlands North MRT is the stop. Fishing is in marked spots. Do not feed the macaques. It is a better afternoon than standing at a closed gate on Gambas Avenue.

Sembawang Park is a different place, a few kilometres north of the spring, with a beach and Beaulieu House. Bus 882 from Sembawang MRT. The fishing jetty is only partly open from 5 to 29 October 2026. NParks says use the designated open section. The lawn is under construction from 9 September 2026 to 30 June 2027. NEA still advises against swimming at Sembawang Beach. Walk the sand. Stay out of the water.

Sembawang Park beach on the Johor Strait, separate from the hot spring

If the plan was a soak plus lunch, eat first. Bukit Canberra Hawker Centre at 21 Canberra Link runs 7am to 11pm, 44 stalls, about 800 seats, a short walk from Canberra MRT. LiXin Teochew fishball noodles and Pangkor Island nasi lemak are the names regulars use. Kampung Admiralty hawker sits on level 2 above Admiralty MRT Exit C. Yishun Park Hawker Centre at 51 Yishun Avenue 11 is next to the pond loop. Those centres are open this week.

They will not all stay open. NEA's Q4 wash calendar takes Chong Pang on 16 and 17 November, then Admiralty, Marsiling, Yishun Park, and Bukit Canberra through late December. That list is a separate dates piece. For the rest of October the hawkers run.

Yishun Pond Park loop beside Khoo Teck Puat Hospital

Yishun Pond Park is 24 hours. The 1 km loop and the 14.5 m spiral tower sit beside Khoo Teck Puat Hospital. Patients walk here in the morning. It is not a hot spring, and that is the point. You can still take a North outdoor hour without pretending the soak is open. Admiralty Park's 26 slides stay useful for kids. The north carpark there has been closed since 1 August 2023. Use the west carpark, or come from Woodlands Waterfront.

Lower Seletar Reservoir Park's lawn is closed until 1 April 2027. Heritage Bridge and PA Water-Venture still run. Skip the picnic-on-the-grass idea until next year.

When the spring does reopen, go early. Weekends fill. Last useful soak is before 6.30pm. Bring your own pail. Eggs are a bring-your-own job at the station. Canberra or Sembawang MRT plus a bus beats hunting for a lot that does not exist.
