Woodgrove Estate in Woodlands is the North street that still treats Halloween as a neighbourhood job. On 31 October 2026 the listed window is 5pm to 9pm. Admission is free. There is no organiser booth, no $5 ticket, and no carnival programme. Residents decorate their own gates, hire their own security, and open Woodgrove Avenue to anyone who turns up in a costume with a bag.
Chinese coverage of the town is 兀兰. The estate sits between Woodlands Avenue 1 and the Seletar Expressway. The walk starts on Woodgrove Avenue and turns into the groves: Ashwood, Oakwood, Cedarwood. Yahoo's 2026 roundup pins one house at 33 Cedarwood Grove, Singapore 738381, with a 5pm start. Treat that as a pin, not a box office. Houses join or stay dark on their own clock.
The habit started in 2007 with about 30 households. BYKidO and The New Age Parents both keep that origin. Residents pay for candy, props, and the permits that let streets close. The New Age Parents' 2026 page still says this is a ground-up night with no organised programme. That is the useful line. If you wanted a haunted house, a bouncy castle, and a best-dressed contest, that was Woodgrove Halloween Night at Singapore American School on 24 October 2026. The $5 RC night is already over. Tomorrow is the estate walk.
The Smart Local's 2026 party list puts Woodgrove on 31 October with time marked TBA and a 2024 street photo. The New Age Parents' dedicated page is firmer: 5pm to 9pm. Their separate Halloween roundup lists 6.30pm to 9.30pm for the same estate. Use the dedicated page. Arrive near 5pm if the kids are small. Later houses keep handing candy until they pack up. Yahoo says 5pm until late. Do not treat 9pm as a hard lock.
Marsiling MRT NS8 is the nearest station. Walk toward Woodlands Avenue 1. Bus 912 stops on that avenue. Do not park inside the estate if the roads are closed. The Woodgrove mall at 30 Woodlands Avenue 1 is a different address. A singles dinner-and-walk listing uses that mall as a meet point. It is not the resident trick-or-treat.
HomeTeamNS Khatib's Last Class is the other North Halloween still on the clock, 31 October and 1 November, 5pm to 11pm at 2 Yishun Walk. That one is ticketed scare zones. Mandai's Mischief Within at Curiosity Cove still has Boo-tiful Day through 1 November and Sundown on 30 October, 31 October, and 1 November. Woodgrove is the free street version in Woodlands. Pick one. The estate walk does not pair well with a 6.30pm Mandai Sundown ticket.
Respect the houses that are not playing. Not every gate is a candy station. Stay on the road, keep bags off planted beds, and leave when a resident says they are done. Past years drew thousands. The New Age Parents and BYKidO both warn that this is still a private neighbourhood. If a child is under 10, stay with them. There is no official first-aid tent and no PA stage.
If the rain hits, the decorations still stand and the candy thins out. There is no rain date. Causeway Point is the nearest mall if you bail. It has not posted a 2026 Christmas atrium yet, and the 17 October trick-or-treat trail there is already finished.
