We’re frequent patrons at Putien Yishun and have always found the service to be nothing particularly noteworthy, which is why we hadn’t left a review previously.
However, during a recent visit to another Putien outlet, we were pleasantly surprised to find that they offer a kids' meal (FOC somemore) and even have children's toys. What impressed us even more was that the staff served our child’s meal first, without us even requesting it. This thoughtful gesture really stood out to us.
It also highlighted the stark contrast in service standards between the two outlets. At Yishun Putien, we often have to raise our hands multiple times just to get the attention of the staff—even during ordering. While we understand it's dinner time and the team may be busy, it still makes for a less pleasant dining experience.
In comparison, the other outlet, also during dinner time, had no such issues. Service was prompt and attentive, and the overall experience was noticeably better.
This difference in service quality prompted me to finally share a review. I hope the Yishun Putien team can work on improving their service standards. Otherwise, we may consider visiting other Putien outlets—or other restaurants—for a more enjoyable dining experience.

Brought my uncle and aunty here for their birthday celebration, and it was such a wonderful experience! The waitresses were super attentive throughout the dinner, even helping us portion our noodles and rice into mini bowls. The cooling dessert at the end was a lovely surprise, thank you! We’ll definitely be coming back again.

The food was delicious, and the portion size was perfect for two people. The table we were seated at felt a little warm, but overall the service was friendly and excellent.

As it was chinese new year season, the normal ala carte were limited. Seasonal flavours are also not available until after March. Fired eggplant was disappointing. No taste of eggplants. Only starch/ flour.
The other regulars are ok. The meat bund were surprisingly good. Will try other outlets.

We ordered a few items. My family love the bloody cockles and the garlic prawns. Price isn’t cheap without the birthday discount voucher. When we wanted to pay with dineout grab, staff said that can’t use birthday coupon with it. Which we are surprise as grab pay dine out suppose to be a payment mode and the dine out discount is on the balance payable. Anyway we paid using Fraser instead since we have the mall vouchers. The sesame bun with pork portion has shrunk a lot compared to my last visit at different outlet. Lots of onions and little meat. The beehoon is pretty nice too. All dishes we chose are small or standard size type. Staffs are pretty tentative. We paid after disc around SGD54 for 3 paxs exclude 2 drinks.
